Go Cinnamon Rolls!

Ben's brother, Steve, called last night to tell us that he and his two boys were playing a game in the car. The games goes like this: Steve names a football team and the boys yell "Lame!" or "Cool!" based on the team.Obviously, Steve starts out with, "Alabama"and they boys reply, "COOL!".

"Tennessee."
"LAME!"

The game continues like this for awhile and then Reid yells out, "The Cinnamon Rolls!".

Steve doesn't follow and asks Reid to clarify.

And Reid says, "You know, like the Florida State Cinnamon Rolls!"

The Florida State Seminoles. Get it? Too cute.

Prayer for Today

Almighty God, in whom we live and move and have our being, You have made us for Yourself, so that our hearts are restless till they rest in You; grant us purity of heart and strength of purpose, that no passion may hinder us from knowing Your will, no weakness from doing it; but in Your light may we see light clearly, and in Your service find perfect freedom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

My Favorite Things

1. BabyGizmo.com and Baby Gizmo Book. My friend, Maegan Keel, told me about the book and then I was introduced to the website as well. They tell you what to buy for a baby, what not to buy and show video reviews and tutorials on their site. Very helpful to a first time mom.

2. Upcoming movies based on books. The Help, Water for Elephants and Harry Potter 7, Part 1. I loved all of these books and am looking forward to seeing them on the big screen as soon as possible. Guess I will need to start interviewing babysitters for all of these 2011 releases.

3. Capri Blue Candle in Volcano. My new favorite candle.

4. Little Debbie Strawberry Petite Cakes. We were walking past these in the grocery store the other night and I could literally smell them before I could see them. They are sooooo yummy! Small, but just enough to satisfy those cupcake cravings.

5. Apples & Cheese. I thought everyone ate this, but today at lunch Betty commented on my eating habits. I think she thought it was just a crazy pregnancy craving until I had her try it. Now she likes it too!
P.S. I like to add a little salt to my apples too.

6. Second Trimester. I started my third trimester a week ago today. So far, it's not too bad but the second trimester was great. I was over the nausea and felt better than normal!

7. Feeling Baby Kicks and Seeing them too! This is one of my most favorite things of all time. I just love feeling him wiggle around in there. He usually gets going when I am being still so when it happens I try not to move as not to disturb him. Although I have figured out a few tricks to get him going so his daddy can feel him too. It is just too much fun.

8. Chuy's. We tried this in Nashville and LOVED it. We were super excited to see that not only did they open one up in Birmingham, but they gave it a sweet location with a gorgeous view!

9.Country Time Lemonade. It has to be Country Time too. I have tried freshly squeezed, fancy organic brands and everything in between. Nothing does the trick like Country Time. We bought a HUGE canister of it at Sam's about a month ago and we have almost used the whole thing already. This may go down as my one serious pregnancy craving.
10. Flaming June. I love perfumes, lotions, candles, pretty much anything that smells pretty. But when I decided I was ready for a new scent, I had my husband choose this time around. He picked this one and I happen to love it too. Plus it was pretty reasonably priced at Anthropologie.

20 Questions

Amy Browning tagged me! I needed something to put on my blog that wasn't baby or pregnancy related anyway. Thanks, Ames!

1.  How often do you go over the speed limit?  ALWAYS. I have a bit of a lead foot and consider the speed limit to be a speed "minimum". I have gotten a little better since I have been pregnant and hope to be extra cautious with a baby on board.

2.  Do you dance like crazy when no one is looking? I didn't know people really did that? I do love to belt out some tunes when no one (or only Ben) is looking though.

3.  If you were going to be stuck on a desert island, which book, which movie, and which CD would you take with you?  I am going to agree with Amy and assume that the Bible doesn't count to keep my answers more interesting. Book: The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Movie: Father of the Bride, Part 2. CD: Is it cheating to say that I would have to make a mix CD of Disney and Broadway songs to sing along to or maybe even the songs that were played at our reception? Otherwise, I guess probably Maroon 5, Songs About Jane.

4.  What did you get in trouble for when you were a kid?  A mix of fighting with my sister (sorry, Jodie) or smart mouthing my mom.

5.  What really gives you the creeps? snakes, feet, and dirty hands

6.  What was your favorite toy when you were a kid? I loved playing grocery store. So probably my mini-shopping cart.

7.  You run into a friend while shopping.  Where are you?  Right now, I would have to say a baby store. I pretty much spend all my money on Asher these days.

8.  When you fall asleep, are you usually on your side, your stomach, or your back?  Side. I am very lucky to favor my left side as this is how I am supposed to sleep for the next 3 months.

9.  If fat or calorie intake wasn't an issue, what one food would you eat the most?  Mexican.

10.  If you could hire one of the following, which one would it be? Driver, chef, maid, or stylist? Probably a stylist. Once I lose baby weight (and them some) I am going to need a whole new wardrobe.
11.  What movie have you watched the most?  Pretty Woman. I used to be able to do a one woman show of the entire movie!

12.  What kind of perfume do you wear?  Ben just bought me a new perfume for our anniversary, Flaming June. And I also love Turquoise by Ralph Lauren (but they don't make it anymore) and Sensi by Armani.

13.  What was your favorite sitcom growing up?  Saved by the Bell. And Full House...TGIF, Baby!

14.  What were you doing the last time you had a really good laugh?  Probably talking to Ben. We laugh at pretty much everything. I am sure it wasn't even funny enough to repeat on here, just us being dorks.

15.  What was the very first concert you ever attended?  Reba and Brooks & Dunn!

16.  Who is the fourth person on your missed call list? My Grandmother

17.  How long does it take you to get ready in the mornings?  For work? maybe 15 minutes. For something special? 45 minutes.

18.  When is the last time you went to the mall and what did you buy?  We went to the Summit after our anniversary dinner. Ben bought me some perfume at Anthropologie and we bought some stuff for Asher at Gymboree.

19.  Ever go to camp?  Nope. Never been.

20.  Do you collect anything? I am not really a collector. I like to throw things away a whole lot more!

Welcoming a New Co-Worker...Office Style

Last week a friend of mine joined the ranks at The Church Office. He has a great sense of humor and loves The Office, so we made sure to welcome him accordingly.

It didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but I think he got the message.

We are so excited to have you on board, Bret! Thanks for being such a good sport!

Today I Am Thankful for...

my amazing husband of 3 years. He is my greatest earthly blessing. I really can't imagine my life without him. He is perfect for me. I am so thankful that God brought us together and continues to bless us in so many ways. I look forward to falling in love with him all over again when Asher is born. I know he will be as good of a daddy as he is a husband.

Happy 3 Year Anniversary, Ben! Thank you for being the perfect balance to my OCD'ness and for loving me unconditionally. You're my most favoritest!
