Welcome to My Crib

We finally took the plunge and put Asher is in his own room this past weekend. I knew he would do well. He has been a good sleeper from day one. He was literally sleeping 5-6 hours at a time the night we came home from the hospital and was up to 8 hours just a couple of weeks after that.

I was most nervous about being so far away from him. His room is upstairs, while ours is on the first floor.

I put him down at 9 PM. I laid in bed and cried while I watched him on the little screen. But after a few minutes, I put on my big girl pants and dealt with it. He didn't wake up until 4 AM. And that was mainly due to a leaky diaper. But a kick butt monitor helped A LOT with that. If you are in the market for a really good video monitor, I HIGHLY recommend this one:

The Summer Infant Baby Touch Color Video Monitor (at least that is the title Babies "R" Us has given it)

The next night I put him down while he was still awake to see if he could put himself to sleep. He did!

Last night he fell asleep in my arms while I was reading to him after his bath. I put him down in his crib at 8:30 and had to wake him up to eat at 6 AM. After eating, he went right back to sleep and woke up at 7:15 - which was exactly when he needs to wake up to get dressed for Day School. I hope we are able to keep up this routine. He makes it so easy on us as parents. Wonder if he will be this easy when he is a teenager???

Check out this sweet little face. I look forward to getting up and going to get him every morning!

I'm sure it's harder on you than him. He probably doesn't even realize he is in a different room. It's so much easier to move him to his own room now than we he is 9 months old and refuses to go!!! Yah for Asher! He has such a good momma.

we have a similar monitor, they are awesome :) we moved both our boys (now 4 & 2) to cribs at four months. it was painless as long as we stayed our routine.

they are now in big boy beds, and i miss the crib/nursery days :(
