My Favorite Things
1. Perfectly Pink TuTus. My friend Jessa just started her own Tutu biz. They are super cute! Check them out. Great Christmas gifts.
2. Aquafresh Isoactive Toothpaste. Super foamy. Just like I like it.
3. Having my team win the SEC Championship game. Not only did they win, but they played this season with extreme talent and discipline. They looked great against the gators and I am so proud of those boys for playing the way they did, not only last week but the whole year!
4. Magic 96.5. Non-stop Christmas music in the car until sometime in January.
5. Country Living Christmas Magazine. This year's edition was really good. Lots of great ideas in there.
6. Christmas Cookies. Buckeyes are a tradition but I found quite a few new good recipes in the magazine mentioned above.
7. Door Numbers. I got mine here. Cheap, easy to apply and super cute (if I do say so myself).
8. The Blind Side. One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. A feel good holiday movie with a dash of SEC football at no extra price.
9. Blackberry Pomegranate Yoplait Yogurt. I love yogurt, but have a STRONG aversion to fruit chunks. There is nothing worse to me than to be eating (or drinking) something smooth and suddenly come upon a slimy chunk of fruit. The blackberry pomegranate flavor tastes great and has no chunks. Or seeds, even.
10. ABC' 25 Days of Christmas. There is no need for me to go out and buy all of my favorite Christmas movies as long as this little genius of an idea is around. My DVR catches them for me and I have a plethora of movies to watch while I wrap presents.

Supper Club Christmas Party
I was running around taking photos before the party but forgot to actually take some DURING the party! This was our first year with babies and we all had full hands...pictures are hard to capture that way. Mason and Madi were wonderful additions to our group! And we had a blessed evening...as we always do!
My grandmother's Christmas dishes. I ended up with a set of 4 and I cherish them so much!
Hot cocoa to go with our delicious desserts that Betty brought, tiramisu and egg custard pie.
My gift to the girls.
They each received a colander filled with cooking gadgets and yummy goodies tied up with a pewter Christmas Tree spreader and a Kate Spade book.
This was our 5th Supper Club Christmas Party and I daresay that it was our best yet due to the newest additions!

Getting ready for our CORE Group Christmas Party
We started this weekend off with a rough start. My car battery died and we thought we were going to have to have it towed to get it fixed. But have no fear, Trey is here! Thank you so much, Trey, for coming over Friday night and lending us your battery charger. Thanks to you our weekend was on a quick upturn!
We woke up Saturday morning to a light dusting of snow. A good sign for the SEC Championship game. It was very cold outside so I made us a big pot of beans and some sweet corn bread to munch on while we watched the game.
Side Note: Alabama WON 32-13 over Florida to win the SEC Championship. We are now Pasadena bound to play in the National Title game on January 8. I have to say the Tide looked great out there and I was so proud of the whole team!
Ben has finals this week so I had to do the decorating by myself. He wanted to help, but our CORE Group Christmas Party was last night and I couldn't wait on him. Sorry, honey.

Just Joking
Just to make sure there is no mistake...yesterday's letter was totally a joke. I got it from www.awkwardfamilyphotos.com and it was originally a Thanksgiving letter some woman emailed out to her family. They claim it is real. Who would really write and SEND something like that??? Not I! Please do not think I would ever really do that...IT WAS A JOKE.

Christmas Dinner Letter
I am hosting our CORE Group Christmas Party this Sunday evening. Is this letter to pushy for me to send out to the guests?
As you all know a fabulous Christmas Dinner does not make itself. I need to ask each of you to help by bringing something to complete the meal. I truly appreciate your offers to assist with the meal preparation.
Now, while I do have quite a sense of humor and joke around all the time, I COULD NOT BE MORE SERIOUS when I am providing you with your Christmas instructions and orders. I am very particular, so please perform your task EXACTLY as I have requested and read your portion very carefully. If I ask you to bring your offering in a container that has a lid, bring your offering in a container WITH A LID, NOT ALUMINUM FOIL! If I ask you to bring a serving spoon for your dish, BRING A SERVING SPOON, NOT A SOUP SPOON! And please do not forget anything. All food that is to be cooked should already be prepared, bring it hot and ready to serve, warm or room temp. These are your ONLY THREE options. Anything meant to be served cold should, of course, already be cold.
The Davis Family
1. Turnips in a casserole with a lid and a serving spoon. Please do not fill the casserole all the way up to the top, it gets too messy. I know this may come as a bit of a surprise to you, but most of us hate turnips so don’t feel like you a have to feed an army.
2. Two half gallons of ice cream, one must be VANILLA, I don’t care what the other one is. No store brands please. I did see an ad this morning for Hagan Daz Peppermint Bark Ice Cream, yum!! (no pressure here, though).
3. Toppings for the ice cream.
4. A case of bottled water, NOT gallons, any brand is ok.
The Faucett Family
1. Green beans or asparagus (not both) in a casserole with a lid and a serving spoon. If you are making the green beans, please prepare FOUR pounds, if you are making asparagus please prepare FIVE pounds. It is up to you how you wish to prepare them, no soupy sauces, no cheese (you know how Mike is), a light sprinkling of toasted nuts, or pancetta, or some EVOO would be a nice way to jazz them up.
2. A case of beer of your choice (I have Coors Light and Corona) or a bottle of clos du bois chardonnay (you will have to let me know which you will bring prior to 11/22).

1. Cortney, as a married woman you are now required to contribute at the adult level. You can bring an hors d’ouvres. A few helpful hints/suggestions. Keep it very light, and non-filling, NO COCKTAIL SAUCE, no beans of any kind. I think your best bet would be a platter of fresh veggies and dip. Not a huge platter mind you (i.e., not the plastic platter from the supermarket).

1. 15 LBS of mashed potatoes in a casserole with a serving spoon. Please do not use the over-size blue serving dish you used last year. Because you are making such a large batch you can do one of two things: put half the mash in a regulation size casserole with lid and put the other half in a plastic container and we can just replenish with that or use two regulation size casserole dishes with lids. Only one serving spoon is needed.
2. A bottle of clos du bois chardonnay

1. A pumpkin pie in a pie dish (please use my silver palate recipe) no knife needed.
2. An apple pie in a pie dish, you can use your own recipe, no knife needed. Looking forward to the party!!

The Literacy Council Signature Series
Last night I was invited to a wonderful event. It was fun and Christmassy plus I got to see the inside of a Mountain Brook mansion, eat delicious catered food and listen to a New York Times Best seller talk about her new book. Apparently this book has been on the Best Seller List three times longer than any other book in history. Pretty Impressive! But not that surprising when you know she graduated from the University of Alabama. What else would you expect from a Tide Alum? It was a great time and best of all I got to go for FREE! Thank you, Misty!
I got a first edition signed copy of the book. Apparently they are a pretty hot item on eBay? I'll probably keep mine and actually read it. Can't wait to get started!
