PB vs JCP

For awhile now I have been convinced that JCPenney and Pottery Barn have the same buyer (or at least buyers who are friends). I have found room set ups on jcp.com that are EXACTLY the same as on Pottery Barn's site. Whether or not my theory is true, they do have some eerily similar pieces. The main difference? Price. Check out some of these examples...



Can you tell which of these is from Pottery Barn?



The top photo is from JCP and costs $1500. Bottom photo from PB costs $3600!




How about these? Which one cost more money?

Personally, I think the JCP version looks better.

This one is actually a trick! The JCP version is actually more expensive.

    I'll definitely need to remember this for the future. Some of the JCP stuff actually looks better than the PB stuff!

    I agree! Most of the JCP items look better than the PB items. Plus, the JCP prices are WAY better! =) I'll have to check with JCP more often!

    I have thought this before, but I never really put that much research into it! I like most of the JCP stuff better! All the other stuff is too close to call!

    craziness! that's really cool that you found all of those comparisons...takes a lot of browsing and a good eye!

    I love looking through the JCP "Big Book" and getting ideas. I have actually seen several of the JCP pieces you posted. But amazingly similar with huge price differences.

    This is just the tip of the iceberg...there are TONS more examples.

    Maybe I can find the picture that was EXACTLY the same. It was of an office and was literally the same picture on both sites.
